Signs water entered a wall
- Swollen baseboards or soft drywall edges
- Paint bubbling, staining, or peeling
- Cool areas or elevated moisture readings
- Water emerging at outlets, trim, or the floor line
Can drywall dry in place?
Sometimes, when the water was clean, exposure was brief, and the wall cavity is accessible to airflow. Removal is more likely when drywall has lost strength, insulation is saturated, contamination is present, or repeated readings do not improve.
