A practical drying plan

  1. Stop and repair the water source.
  2. Map affected and unaffected materials.
  3. Extract liquid water and remove unsalvageable materials.
  4. Set drying equipment for the specific rooms and assemblies.
  5. Record temperature, humidity, and material readings until goals are met.

Why equipment placement matters

More equipment is not automatically better. Air must reach wet surfaces, dehumidification must match the evaporation load, and pressure should not push dust into clean areas.

When drying is complete

Appearance and touch are not reliable endpoints. Completion is supported by stable readings compared with similar dry materials in the building, plus confirmation that concealed areas are no longer holding moisture.
